August 20, 2009, FedEx renewed its agreement with the China Badminton Association (CBA) to be the lead sponsor of China's most successful sports team for another three years. A press conference was held at Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel just two days after the CBA dominated the World Badminton Championships in India. Chinese National Team Head Coach Li Yong Bo and his super star players including Lin Dan and Xie Xingfang attended the press conference alongside other team coaches and players.

Senior management of FedEx, including AP Managing Director Malcolm Sullivan and Head of China Eddy Chan, also joined the press conference and announced the continuation of the partnership. The FedEx officials expressed their great satisfaction with the partnership and the CBA's success at the Beijing Olympic Games, as well as their expectations for continued success at London 2012.

The Helios Partners China team headed by President Chris Renner attended the press conference and the post conference gala dinner. Since FedEx's first agreement with the CBA in 2005 and the renewal of FedEx-CBA sponsorship in 2009, the Helios team has played a critical role in the negotiation and activation proceesses. Both FedEx and CBA expressed their satisfaction with the Helios team's role during the past years and acknowledged Helios's experience and service orientation as integral to their smooth working relationship.
During the post conference gala dinner, Catherine Lu, Managing Director of the FedEx China marketing department, and Li Yongbo, Head Coach of Chinese National Badminton Team, toasted their teams as well as Helios Partners for having developed one of China's greatest Olympic era sponsorship success stories.
